The Epic Outback Sydney to Broken Hill Road Trip Itinerary: 9 Days through Dust and Magic Sunsets
When most of your friends are adventurers, group chat messages are more about the places we want to see next rather than a new bar…

The wind is blowing in your neck, your favorite road trip tunes are blasting in your ear and you pass one rice paddy after the other. You’re in the midst of a motorcycle loop somewhere in the countryside of Laos. Giving your bike that extra bit of speed, you realize these Asian bikes do not have any speed limitations. So you have a little fun…70, 80, 90 km’s an hour, oops that might have been a bit too much. Every now and again a beaten old truck passes you, honking because you’re one of the few tourists coming this way. Same goes for the kids living in the local villages, running to the side of the road and waving wildly. Waving back at them, you try to keep the bike straight. Why did they put the throttle on the right side of the steering wheel? That doesn’t matter though because you’re on one of the greatest motorcycle loops in Laos.
This weekend was all about celebrating friendship. For me personally, I was also celebrating four years of travel. For this occasion, I decided it was time for a brand new look for the blog! The previous design went online while I was in Vietnam (Dalat to be precise) about 3.5 years ago. It was time for an update! So here it is, the brand new design! I hope you love it as much as I do.
My most recent trip to Byron Bay was a spontaneous one and it was exactly what the doctor ordered. While it was not my first trip to the coastal town (my third to be exact), I really wanted to feel like a local in Byron Bay this time around.
Franz Josef was on the bucket list for New Zealand from the second I knew I was going to this amazing country. A land where the ocean meets the mountains and the sunsets are mind-blowing? Where do I sign up?! The west coast of New Zealand is a unique place in the world. The views are so breathtaking that legends say people were too busy looking around that they were getting too lazy. So the gods introduced sandflies. Pesky tiny flies that harass you for a good portion of the day and will make sure that you’re not lazing around on the gorgeous west coast beaches. Don’t let them stop you from visiting the coast though as it has so much going for it. The West Coast Tourism Board was kind enough to invite us (thanks to the excellent organization skills of my friend Lieselot) to their little part of the country so we could explore it to the fullest. Here is my quick guide to Franz Josef and Fox Glacier.
Wow guys, it took me a while to make my first travel video. To say that this was a steep learning curve is an understatement….
