Take A Microadventure to Dinant

Posted on November 7, 2016

When my Sunday afternoon plans fell through, I looked at one of my best mates and we decided to jump in the car and take a microadventure to Dinant.

The term microadventure was first invented/claimed by adventurer Alastair Humphreys and can be defined as a “short, simple, local, cheap adventure”. It means that you can jump in the car or on the train and you don’t have to spend half a fortune on a plane ticket across the world. For me, these micro adventures are a way of life. There is nothing I love to do more than to inject a little bit of adventure into daily life. That is certainly the reason I love traveling so much. Every day is an adventure! Continue Reading

Will a Trip to the Northern Territory, Australia, kill you?

Posted on October 27, 2016

The first thing an Australian told me upon arrival in my Darwin hostel was “Everything in the ocean is trying to kill you, you won’t make it longer than five minutes”. Welcome to the Northern Territory, where everything is trying to kill you and each other! This is the land where the animals and some of the people are all kinds of cray cray. Where crocodiles eat bull sharks and snakes eat crocodiles. Where kangaroos have relationships with pigs and where flies would take over the country if they had a bigger brain. Welcome to the Northern Territory! Continue Reading

Where the heck am I?

Posted on September 12, 2016

Where are you right now? Which country did you just see again? These are questions I get quite a lot and it doesn’t surprise me as I do tend to fall off the planet every now and again. I was a bit shocked to discover how long it had been since my last blog post. How did that even happen? I guess I was too busy traveling, A LOT. Sharing images of my travels through Instagram seems so much easier when you’re spending not more than two or three nights at the same location. Time for a personal update! Continue Reading

Planning a trip to Japan

Posted on July 18, 2016

My up-and-coming trip to Japan was determined by a Jetstar sale. Tickets were only 199 Australian dollars and my work-holiday visa for Australia was coming to an end. I knew I wanted to get closer to a big Asian hub to be able to find a cheap flight home. You read that right, home! After Japan I will (temporarily) be flying back to Belgium. With a couple of stop-overs in Hong Kong and Abu Dhabi of course. Breaking up a long trip like this is something I really enjoy doing and I get to visit a couple of extra countries. Sure it took me six months to get to Australia, but I got here in the end didn’t I? Continue Reading
