Why you should put the Alsace area on your Bucket List

Posted on February 4, 2017

Right before the madness of leaving Belgium and the holidays, I was invited to visit the Alsace area. On the schedule were several Christmas markets and way too much delicious wine. The area is well known for its crazy Christmas markets and you’ll find plenty of articles online about them everywhere. Nonetheless, I will share a bit about my journey during Christmas time any way. Because the markets are so well-known, they were also super busy. I would love to visit the area when it’s more quiet. Whether you’re coming in for the pretty houses or the wines, there are plenty of reasons why you should put the Alsace area on your bucket list! Continue Reading

Where the heck am I?

Posted on September 12, 2016

Where are you right now? Which country did you just see again? These are questions I get quite a lot and it doesn’t surprise me as I do tend to fall off the planet every now and again. I was a bit shocked to discover how long it had been since my last blog post. How did that even happen? I guess I was too busy traveling, A LOT. Sharing images of my travels through Instagram seems so much easier when you’re spending not more than two or three nights at the same location. Time for a personal update! Continue Reading

Great Road Trip Ideas

Posted on February 28, 2016

I’ve always had a deep love for road trips. Having traveled by land for most of my time in Australia, this affection for long hours of driving, listening to great tunes or podcasts for ever and not knowing where you will end up has only grown. Australia, however, is not the only country to do amazing an inspiring road trips. I’ve been longing for a long time to drive across America, eat my way through Italy or take a motorcycle through Vietnam and Laos. With so many places to go, here is a very incomplete list of European, Australian and South-East Asian road trip ideas for you: Continue Reading

Route de France Instadiary

Posted on July 29, 2014

I just arrived back in Belgium and wanted to share the first part of my -almost- three week long France journey. I have to admit that I loved it so much it made it kind of hard to come back. My trip started out in Bonnieux with my gorgeous girlfriends, I fitted in a weekend in Paris and ended up more in the Indre province of France with my family, dogs and some fun airplanes. The highlights definitely were way too many wines with my girls, unexpected new friends along the way and 2 flight. A big thank you to Gert and Guillaume for taking me up in the air! Lemon-Zucchini Risotto with Scallops

Posted on July 20, 2014

Sitting outside with my laptop and hearing the up and coming thunderstorm approaching, I wanted to share yesterday’s dish. When I’m on holiday I love to experiment with food as I finally have a little bit more time and a couple of extra mouths to feed. I love to play around with whatever I can cook on a BBQ. Baking a pizza one day is a dream of mine, is that weird? Anyway, back to yesterday’s dinner. At least once while staying here, I need to eat scallops, this is simply not up for this discussion. This year I decided to combine it with a fresh tasting risotto, a lemon-zucchini risotto with scallops that is. Continue Reading

Gliders And Cocktails

Posted on August 7, 2013

Having been brought up between gliders and pilots, I’m one of the few girls that thinks that “Top Gun” is a cultural must-see, knows the name of several types of clouds, knows the difference between a wooden and a plastic glider and can almost recite the pilot’s alphabet -I said almost-. This is the place where I learned how to ride a bike, built camps with people that are still my friends, learned how to park a car and even almost stole a tractor -the wheelies weren’t me-. Camping Life

Life is pretty simple when going camping. But sometimes all a girl needs is some sun and an inflatable swimming pool. Located in the middle of the French Countryside, my quick getaway couldn’t have been more perfect. Continue Reading
