Sunset on the Maldives is an event on its own. Every evening we would make sure to look for a nice viewpoint, whether it was on the beach or on the rooftop of our hotel (if you have a closer look, you can see our faces on their booking page ;)). One day the clouds would be perfectly reflected into the ocean, the other day we would be amazed by the colors in the sky or the flying foxes in the air.
Imagine, you’re planning your next trip abroad. What should you to take? A bikini or two for sure, a pretty dress for at night and … make-up? Of course! Why should you leave your make-up at home if you like wearing some on a regular basis? However you might need to rethink your daily routine. Heavy or dark coverage doesn’t work so well on holiday and it might be a good excuse to embrace a more natural look. Moreover your skin will be happy to have a little breather.
Oh Don Det, how you calmed me down. Despite the fact that Don Det is an island in Laos, that there are stray cats, dogs and water buffaloes, that it has roosters and even a monkey stuck in a cage (so sad), it reminds me of a place in France that I love to visit. What makes it similar is the vibe and the people. Everyone is laid back and there to enjoy life. But apart from the occasional French baguette with eggs for breakfast, Don Det is actually very different from my little French town, as you can imagine.
Imagine yourself a shop where you can have every piece of clothing or shoes made that you ever desired. Sound like a dream right? Well it’s not, that shop is called Hoi An, a small town in Vietnam. The home of a countless amount of tailors and shoemakers, you can basically have anything and everything custom-made for a very reasonable price. As a fashion blogger of course I couldn’t forgo this opportunity and started making a list of the items I had been looking for some time but could never found/couldn’t afford.
When you are going traveling for a longer period, your backpack basically becomes your home away from home. Therefore choosing a backpack is just as crucial as choosing what goes into said backpack (more about thàt later). While planning for my big adventure I knew this was going to be one of my most important decisions. Like always, I love my research and as the departure date grew closer, I became more known into the field of backpacks and which kind I was looking for. Around this time I got into contact with the people from Osprey, a brand that is better known in America than it is here. I love how streamlined and minimal their packs are and that they have a lot of travel-savvy features. Because they have such a wide selection, I thought they were the perfect brand to use when you’re deciding between certain packs. There truly are a lot of features and different qualities to choose from so I narrowed it down to 6 question that you should ask yourself.
Getting up at 5 am to watch the sunrise is not something you do when you’re not traveling. When you are traveling however, it is so often worth it. Don’t get me wrong it still hurts but watching the world come to life had a certain magic to it, more than the sunrise will ever have.
