I’m Marijs and this is my blog Rooftop Antics. My blog is about showing you how much fun traveling out-of-the-box is and sharing all my best travel hacks. I left the fashion industry with a 1-way ticket to India and haven't looked back since.
Solo travel is all about wandering the globe without your safety net. My personal opinion is that solo travel is one of the best ways to travel and gives you an amazing experience while challenging every bone in your body.
6am, an early wake-up call. Time to get up, GoPro ready, camera charged. We’re sailing the Great Barrier Reef!
It had been more than a year since my last adventure on the reef so excited was an understatement for how I felt that morning.
So much has happened since my last post! First of all, I’m on the other side of the world. I’m actually in one of the furthest places I can make it to from Belgium, Christchurch. It took three flights to get here.
My up-and-coming trip to Japan was determined by a Jetstar sale. Tickets were only 199 Australian dollars and my work-holiday visa for Australia was coming to an end. I knew I wanted to get closer to a big Asian hub to be able to find a cheap flight home. You read that right, home! After Japan I will (temporarily) be flying back to Belgium. With a couple of stop-overs in Hong Kong and Abu Dhabi of course. Breaking up a long trip like this is something I really enjoy doing and I get to visit a couple of extra countries. Sure it took me six months to get to Australia, but I got here in the end didn’t I?
