Seeing Clear with Polette

3 min read

I can’t believe how nice it is to actually see clear. See the thing is, I actually need prescription glasses or lenses and I never made the time to get them. This means that I’ve mist quite a few beautiful things in my life. As I was planning my long-term travel, being able to see was quite important (go figure, right!?). A little while ago I found the perfect prescription glasses but there was still a problem on sunny days. Therefore, I jumped at the opportunity when Polette approached me with the option of testing one of their prescription sunglasses.

Vietnam Meets Antwerp

Most of the time, the favorite pieces of my wardrobe are pieces I picked up from abroad. This blog post is a beautiful example of Vietnam meets Antwerp. This kimono is another one the pieces I had made in Hoi An and I am in love with it. As you can read in my post of the time, I wanted a powder pink blazer and a long kimono, but I just decided to combine the two instead of making separates. The fabrics for kimonos were not right and the fit for the blazers were not modern enough. That being said, it is not the easiest piece to combine. Might be because it has the tendency to look like a giant powder pink bathrobe. But as it is a powder pink kimono, all combinations are possible. For this day I went for ripped denim to counterbalance the soft color of the kimono.

Imagine yourself a shop where you can have every piece of clothing or shoes made that you ever desired. Sound like a dream right? Well it’s not, that shop is called Hoi An, a small town in Vietnam. The home of a countless amount of tailors and shoemakers, you can basically have anything and everything custom-made for a very reasonable price. As a fashion blogger of course I couldn’t forgo this opportunity and started making a list of the items I had been looking for some time but could never found/couldn’t afford.

Inspiration hits you at every turn. For me it was enough to walk past a girl on Koh Tao and seeing a scene in “Water For Elephants” with Reese Witherspoon to realize that a colorful kimono is the perfect summer staple.

Life is pretty simple when going camping. But sometimes all a girl needs is some sun and an inflatable swimming pool. Located in the middle of the French Countryside, my quick getaway couldn’t have been more perfect.
