The famous East Coast trips of most travelers skip Newcastle and not unlike Brisbane, it has a reputation of being boring and less interesting than Sydney or Melbourne. While both capital cities are very vibrant and beautiful, so is Newcastle. The city is a great stop on most people’s travels or is a perfect weekend getaway for other Australians. Therefore I would love to invite you into my travel guide to Newcastle, New South Wales. It is full of foodie goodness, outdoor activities and espresso martinis. Nobody put’s baby in the corner.

Penang, Malaysia, the Street Art Capital of South East Asia

Penang in Malaysia is an island with many good things. First and foremost, it is known for its excellent selection of food courts, restaurants and street side stalls. Second, it is known for its art scene. Most of the action when you are visiting the town will be found in Georgetown. This is the part of Penang which is a UNESCO heritage zone and where you will find almost all of the hostels and restaurants discussed in this post. Penang, however, is bigger than only Georgetown, there are beaches, hills, markets all around the island and even one of the biggest (literally) and most impressive Buddhist temples of South East Asia, the Kek Lok Si Temple.

My New York Wishlist: The Food

New York screams great brunch spots, amazing dinner places, street-food and fresh juicebars to me. I’m very curious to see how long the lines are actually going to be to get some food and how difficult it is to get a reservation in a popular spot.
